Plans are afoot for a course on media skills in covering equestrian sports.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Media and Information Office director Tawfiq Al Salehi said that the office is in the process of organising the course under the directives of His Majesty the King’s representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Al Salehi said that the course would shed light on various aspects, including the skills that the commentator, the broadcaster or the photographer must have in covering equestrian events, namely endurance races, showjumping as well as Arabian Horse Beauty shows.
“The event will also incorporate the technical sides of these sports and explain how to compose a media material that suits them and how to cover horse sport events at local and international levels. The participants will also have the opportunity to learn more about the technical sides of such sports as there will be a discussion on the special terms being used in horse activities,” said Al Salehi.
The date of the course as well as the names of the experts who will conduct the sessions will be announced later.
Al Salehi said that those interested in attending the course should email the word ‘subscription’ to firstname.lastname@example.org along with their contact numbers and addresses.
