Saudi, UAE and Bahrain withdraw from 'Khaleeji 2017'

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain have officially withdrawn from the Gulf Cup of Nations, which will be held in Qatar.

The Oman Football Association (OFA) confirmed the decision of the three countries to boycott the 23rd edition of the biennial football tournament.

It also announced that the championship will kick-off as planned on December 22 in Qatar.

Five national football teams will be in the fray – host country Qatar, Oman, Yemen, Kuwait and Iraq. The draw will be held on Monday, December 11.
