The trial of Nabeel Rajab who is accused of spreading false information on social media about Saudi-led military action in Yemen was yesterday adjourned to January 15 for deliberations.
Mr Rajab is standing trial at the High Criminal Court for allegedly disseminating false information about Bahrain through his Twitter account.
The GDN earlier reported that the High Criminal Appeals Court rejected Mr Rajab’s appeal in another case where he is accused of undermining security by disseminating false information during TV interviews.
He was jailed for two years after being found guilty of spreading false news about Bahrain in interviews with foreign media outlets, including Iranian TV channel Al Alam.
Video footage of Mr Rajab was screened during a previous open-court hearing as part of evidence he had access to his Twitter account.
Despite earlier denying having control of his Twitter account @NabeelRajab, Mr Rajab was seen in the videos talking to the media about comments he had made through the same account.
