The seventh National Day Swimming Championship will be held on December 15 and 16 at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town.
The championship, which marks Bahrain’s National Day and His Majesty the King’s accession day, will be held under the patronage of Bahrain Swimming Association (BSA) president Shaikh Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa.
Bahrain Olympic Committee board member and tournament director Omar Al Malki said registration is open for all.
“The event will cover five age groups – 10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 and over-18,” said Al Malki.
Al Malki said the championship will feature two sessions each day. The first session on the inaugural day starts at 9am and continues until noon with 100m freestyle, 50m backstroke and 150 freestyle.
In the two-hour evening session, which starts at 5pm, competitions will be held in in 200m freestyle, 50m breaststroke and 4X100m freestyle.
The first session on the second day will comprise 50m freestyle, 100m breaststroke, 100m butterfly and 800m freestyle, while 50m butterfly, 100m backstroke and 4X100m medley are scheduled for the evening session.
Entry fee is BD3 per participant in each race and Sunday is the last day for accepting entries.
