Kuwait City: Host country Kuwait will take on Saudi Arabia in the opening of the 23rd Gulf Football Cup on December 22.
“The opening match will be held at the newly-built Shaikh Jaber Stadium”, said Kuwait Football Association (KFA) chairman Shaikh Ahmed Al-Youssef Al-Sabah.
He said all eight teams will take part in the tournament – including Saudi, the UAE and Bahrain.
The championship, which was relocated from Qatar to Kuwait, will run until January 5.
Meanwhile, the organising committee of 'Khaleeji 23' announced that entry to the matches will be free.
