SPARTANS stopped the winning run of Jai Karnataka while Magnum Travels Chak De, Pappilon Mangalore Boyz and Young Goan’s Club registered impressive wins in the Indian Club IPL Cricket Tournament 2017.
Batting first, Spartans scored 46 for four in their six overs with Prashant’s 12-ball 13 (1x4).
In reply, Jai Karnataka were bundled out for 33 in 5.4 overs. Opener Manoj (14, 10 balls, 2x4) was the top scorer while Jikesh claimed the man-of-the- match prize bagging three wickets for three runs.
However, Spartans lost to Magnum Travels Chak De in their second match of the day.
Batting first, Spartans were restricted to 18 runs in their six overs. Vishwas (2-1) and Khaja (1-2) were the main wicket-takers.
In reply, Chak De reached the target in four overs losing one wicket. Vasanth was the man-of-the-match for his unbeaten 10 (1x4).
Pappilon Mangalore Boyz also won an one-sided match against Kudla Challengers by six wickets. After restricting Kudla to 25 runs, Pappilon reached the target in 2.4 overs without losing any wicket.
Man-of-the-match was Najeesh for his 11-ball 19 (2 x4, 1x6).
Young Goans beat Central Cafe by a wicket to keep alive their chances of qualifying to the knockout stage.
Batting first, Central Cafe scored 40 in six overs with Satheesh Shetty the top scorer (11-ball 23, 2x6).
The Goans scored the winning run in the last over. Sameer Bandodkar bagged the man-of-the-match award for his two wickets at the cost of just one run.
