Nearly 200,000 foreigners were caught living illegally in Saudi, some of whom don’t even have residents permit while others don’t have valid work permits.
Police caught over 2,000 people trying to cross the borders, most of whom are Yemenis and Ethiopians. The police have managed to deport most of those who tried to enter Saudi illegally.
The foreigners who are residing in Saudi illegally were given 90 days from the end of March to flee the country before facing prosecution or paying fines.
Those who don’t comply risk paying fines up to SR 100,000.
