Riffa defeated Bahrain Club 83-55 in the preliminary stage second leg of the Bahrain Zain Basketball Men’s League played last night at Zain Arena in Um Al Hassam.
After trailing after the first quarter 22-19, Riffa outscored Bahrain Club in the second 24-2.
However, Bahrain Club came back to reduce the margin and win the third quarter 22-12. Riffa saved their best for last in the fourth quarter as they outscored Bahrain Club 28-9 on way to victory.
Riffa’s best scorers were Marcell Jones who fired 26 points, along with Mohammed Hakeem and Mohammed Nabeel who chipped in 17 and 12, respectively.
Bahrain Club’s best scorer was Merrill Holden who had 23 points.

In the day’s other match, Al Najma crushed Al Hidd 111-62.
The victory was Al Najma’s eighth with six defeats as they raised their points total to 21, while Al Hidd lost their 12th match with only one win in their record, as they remain in 12th position with 14 points.
Al Najma completely outplayed Al Hidd, who play this season without a professional player. They dominated all four quarters as follows: 25-9, 23-20, 35-17, 28-16.
Mohammed Buallay was Al Najma’s top scorer with 36 points, along with Fadhelallah Abbas who finished with 26 and Qassim Hassan added 16.
Al Hidd’s best scorers were Omran Adnan and Hussain Al Lulu who hit 16 and 15 points, respectively.
