2017 has been filled with great TV shows and movies. However it wasn't all fun and games, we've lost many beloved characters, here are five we said goodbye to in 2017.
Five characters we said goodbye to in 2017
Steve Trevor.
Captain Steve Trevor portrayed by Chris Pine in 'Wonder Woman' was a United States Army Air Service officer, spy, and Wonder Woman's love interest.
Steve sacrificed himself to foil the plans of General Ludendorff, Dr. Poison, and Ares the god of war, ultimately helping Wonder Woman save the Day.
Yondu
Played by Michael Rooker, Yondu Udonta was a Ravager and the adoptive father of 'Star Lord' Peter Quill. Yondu had fooled Peter into thinking that the only reason he kept him around was his small stature that would allow him to easily steal stuff. However, the reason Udonta kept Peter around was to prevent Quill's biological father Ego from carrying out his dastardly plan. Yondu gave the last space suit to Peter in order to save his life, but it resulted in the death of our favorite Ravager.
Professor Martin Stein
It was reported earlier this year that Victor Garber's contract was running out and was planning an exit from the show 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow'
Martin Stein and Jefferson 'Jax' Jackson were transmuted and conjoined together as the nuclear man 'Firestorm'. When they are apart they can still sense how the other feels through the psychic link that they share together. Martin's daughter Lilly, who is a time aberration, had given birth. Ray Palmer and both members of Firestorm were developing a cure for the F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M matrix, which would allow Stein to be separated from Jax and spending time with his daughter and grandchild.
During the final part of the four-way crossover 'Crisis on Earth X' Stein got shot while trying to open a breach back to Earth-1. Jax fused himself with Stein to save his life, this caused both men to be in critical condition, Stein was going to die either way, so he begged Jax to take the cure that would unlink the duo. Jax survived, but Stein did not.
Logan
Hugh Jackman has been playing Logan/Wolverine for 17 years. Logan is the best-rated movie in the X-Men franchise. The movie saw Logan fighting an evil version of himself known as 'X-24'. Towards the end of the movie, we see Logan take on excessive Damage while trying to help the young mutants. The last shot of the movie sees the young mutants gather around Logan's grave, Wolverine's daughter Luara 'X-23' then takes the cross and places it back onto the ground into the form of an 'X'.
Carl Grimes
During the mid-season finale of 'The Walking Dead,' we saw Ric Grimes see those who escaped Alexandria, the camera kept on showing the faces of several main characters, with the exception of Carl. We then hear Carl's voice, which leads us to believe he is safe. When Carl enters the camera frame he looks exhausted, he lifts up his shirt to expose a fatal walker bite. While Carl didn't die on Camera it is evident that he won't survive as all those who get bitten turn. Also, Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl posted a photo of him cutting off the legendary Carl Grimes mullet.
