Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ordered the payment of the annual bonus to civil and military employees as of January 1, according to SPA.
The Saudi monarch issued a royal order in this regard to ease burdens on citizens following the measures which were implemented to restructure the economy, including the implementation of the Value Added Tax, which took effect on January 1.
King Salman also ordered a monthly cost of living allowance of SR1,000 to be paid to government staff and military personnel for a period of one year, in addition to the payment of SR5,000 to military personnel serving at the kingdom's southern frontline.
Under the royal order which was issued last night, Kng Salman also directed the state to unify disbursal of salaries of government staff from the 27th of every Gregorian month.
A cost of living allowance of SR500 will be added to the retirees’ salaries paid by the Public Pension Agency and the General Organisation for Social Insurance for one year.
The Saudi leader also ordered the payment of SR500 as a cost of living allowance for the monthly financial provision allocated for social security beneficiaries for one year.
He gave orders to increase the stipend payments for students by 10 per cent for one year and to bear the VAT for citizens benefiting from private health services and private education.
The Saudi state will also pay the VAT not exceeding SR850,000 as a portion of the purchase price of the citizen's first home.
