Degree of confusion

Letters
J Muhammad

An honourable MP recently raised an urgent proposal, on an apparently principled stand, that degrees obtained from China should be equalised here in Bahrain. His proposal was rejected by a majority of his fellows.

Can this senior citizen, with respect ask this learned MP if he was a judicious legislator, which this Bahraini feels the MP is? Then why has he not raised a similar principled proposal that degrees obtained from Pakistan, India, etc., should also be equalised? Presently, for example, a Master’s degree from these countries is equalised here as Bachelor’s. Why is “this” justified and “that” not?
