Organised by the Indian Welfare Association (IWA), this special festival is open for people of all nationalities and cultures. The event will be open to the public from 10am-10pm on both days and entry fee is 500fils per person.
Pottery
In association with the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry, the festival will showcase traditional expertise like pottery making by Al Jasra Handicrafts Centre.
The event will provide a perfect chance for spectators to take part and learn this conventional art form, thereby making it the star attraction of the event.
“We are expecting a crowd of 10,000 people for the event and we promise to deliver the best desert experience in the Island,” said IWA manager Nabeel Ahmed.
With a turnout of that magnitude, this spectacle is bound to be one of the biggest opportunities in Bahrain to interact with people from various backgrounds and explore new ideas.
IWA plans to rent out more than 100 stalls to various companies, shops, restaurants as well as individuals willing to showcase their products and services.
“The purpose of arranging such an event is to give the desert experience to expatriates at an affordable price,” added Mr Ahmed.
“We will also run a pre-ticket sales campaign at various locations in Bahrain.”
The event will be held to facilitate a unique desert carnival for all to enjoy.
With colourful stage performances and many similar attractions, the event is expected to create a bonding environment, bringing all cultures together.
Apart from the vast array of live entertainment, there will be countless food stalls triggering one’s taste buds, with other highlights for the event including a magic show and stand-up comedy act.
Plus, the Baingan Vines team from the famed YouTube channel TBV will also be attracting audiences with their array of amusing acts and will be flying in from India to showcase their rib-tickling performances.
Another source of entertainment will be the Kerala Cultural Programme, which will include fun and enjoyment for children of all ages.
Plays
Distinctive stage plays by enthusiastic children will be displayed here. Similarly, Tamil cultural programmes will also be performed, thereby enhancing the variety and leisure aspect of the fair.
These will be accompanied by indoor-outdoor games, and will be coupled with ample choice of shopping stalls.
Through this – the first and foremost of its kind, desert experience – IWA plans to work towards achieving its goal of organising value-based events and facilitating its mission to provide distinctive get-togethers for families and corporates.
