A Saudi woman was killed along with her six children in a horrific accident in the Governorate of Sabya in the province of Jazan.
The list of victims includes the mother, her three sons and her three daughters, said Jazan Red Crescent official spokesman Bishi Al-Sarkhi.
They were travelling a eight people from the same family when the same car collided with a heavy truck which cause the death of six children on the site of the accident.
The mother was rushed to the hospital in a desperate attempt to save her life but she was pronounced dead on arrival at the emergency.
The driver of the car, who was the only survivor, is said to be in a stable condition at Sabya general hospital.
The heavy death toll resulting from the accident prompted Transportation Minister Dr. Nabil Al-Amoudi to sack Jazan Roads director Mohammed Al-Hazmi and launch an inquiry involving other officials.
