ALI Al Sharif capped a brilliant run completing a grand double on the final day of the Sixth EK Kanoo Junior Tennis Championships at Bahrain Tennis Club in Juffair.
Bahrain’s Ali proved his mettle by beating Mathias Hopeman of Switzerland 7-5, 6-1 to claim the under-14 boys singles title.
He then paired with Mohammed Al Khan and beat Ahmed Ismail and Sulaiman Al Gosaibi in the under-14 boys doubles final.

In the girls under-16 final, Erika Weil of Canada got the better of India’s Alina Alex.
In the other finals, Hashim Al Tobli of Bahrain beat his compatriot Hussain Jalil 4-2 to bag the 6-8 years unisex title while Altair Marat (Kaz) got the better of Bahrain’s Zaidan Hajjar 6-2 to claim the 9-10 years unisex crown.
The under-12 boys singles title was captured by Tristan Manners who beat Raj Singh.
The finals were held under the patronage of Fuad Ebrahim Kanoo, vice-chairman of Ebrahim K Kanoo BSC.
Other dignitaries attending the finals were Saleh Isa bin Hindi Al Mannai, the King’s Advisor for Youth and Sport Affairs, Shaikh Abdul Aziz Bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, vice-president of Bahrain Tennis Federation, Mehdi Hasan, minister (Diplomatic Wing) and Head of Chancery of the Embassy of Bangladesh, Dr Ali Fakhro, honorary president of BTC, Dr Faisal Al Mosawi, member of BTC, Khalid Al Haj, General Organisation for Youth and Sports Acting Clubs Affairs director, Tareq Alarabi, director of Club Affairs and Khamis Al Muqla, president of BTC.
