The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has reiterated its call, warning against consuming any of the products of French Lactalis Nutrition Santé over tainted baby food, Jazirah reported.
SFDA officials have received an alert from the EU's Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) over the contamination of baby food formula with Salmonella Agona bacteria.
The RASFF alert cited the baby formula produced at the French-based group's Caron plant – Celia EXPERT 1, Celia EXPERT 22, Celia EXPERT 33, Premium Care 11, Premium Care 22, Premium Care 33, Premium care AC, Premier Care IT, Premium Care Kids 3-10 years, Premium Care Lactose Free, Celia digest/ Celia comfort.
Saudi Arabia last week suspended imports of infant milk and byproducts manufactured by French Lactalis Nutrition Santé until the French company provides a corrective plan to deal with the cause of the Salmonella Agona–infected infant milk.
It had issued a statement cautioning against the possible infection of the French infant milk products with the Salmonella Agona bacteria, which may pose a threat to children’s health.
