Al-Wehda Club clinched the UAE Football Super cup after defeating Al-Jazira 2-0 in the match which was played in Bani Yas Stadium in Al-Shamkha, in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Striker Mourad Batna scored the first goal 20 minutes into the first half of the match.
His teammate Balazs Dszudszak sealed the final scored with a second goal in the 59th minute, enabling Al-Wehda to lift the Year of Zayed Super Cup as the country celebrates the centennial birthday of its founder Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan.
This is the second time Al-Wehda lifts the Super cup trophy ever since professional football league was officially launched in 2008 and the third in the history of the club.
In 2011, Al-Wehda beat the same arch-rival Al-Jazira by penalty shoot-out 6-5 to lift its second title. The two teams then drew 2-2 after regular and extra time.
