RENOWNED Arab singers Mohammed Abdu and Angham will perform in Bahrain this weekend.
Hosted as part of the Shop Bahrain festival, tomorrow night’s concert will take place at the Gulf Hotel Convention and Spa.
Mohammed Abdu is an extremely well-known artist from Saudi Arabia who launched his career in the 1960s and has been described as ‘The Artist of the Arabs’.
During his career he has released numerous successful records including El Amaken, Bo’ad Wala Orybeen, Ya Rahila and more.
Angham is also a record producer and actress, who has been named the most successful vocal female artist in Egypt, where she is from.
She was also awarded the title of best-selling female pop artist in the Middle East for 2003 and is well-known for her vocal range.
Until 2001, Angham’s musical style was largely based on Arabic classics, however, following her new style in her Leih Sebtaha record, she branched out, choosing more international beats while ensuring the essence of her songs possess a hint of Middle Eastern flavour.
The performances will begin at 10pm and a range of ticket packages are available, with some including dinner.
Tickets are available online at www.tathkartkom.com.
