Bahrain women set for Fed Cup tennis

SAFA Safar, Nazeli Nader, Maya Besaiso and Faten Abdulhameed will represent Bahrain in the BNP Paribas Fed Cup (Asia Women II) to be organised by Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF), under the supervision of the International Tennis Federation, at their tennis courts in Isa Town from Tuesday to next Saturday.

The team was announced yesterday by head coach Hamad Al Fardan.

“The training period for this tournament was relatively short. But it was concentrated. We have tried as much as possible to invest every possible second and we have focused heavily on the physical preparations and rechnical aspects in anticipation of strong opposition,” said Al Fardan.

Fourteen countries are taking part in the event and they are hosts Bahrain, Indonesia, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, New Zealand, Oman, Pacific Oceania, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Uzbekistan.
