TEN-men Al Hidd hit back from 1-0 down to score a deserving 2-1 victory over Al Ahli while Riffa defeated second-placed Al Najma 2-0 and Al Shabab and Ettihad drew goalless in the 12th round of the Bahrain NBB First Division Football League last night.
At Khalifa Sports City Stadium, Al Hidd grabbed three important points against Al Ahli despite the latter going 1-0 up through a Ali Al Asfoor strike in the 30th minute.
Al Hidd equalised in the 47th minute when Al Ahli defender Ali Mohammed scored an own goal.
Al Hidd were down to 10 men in the 54th minute after Al Hidd’s Moosa Nari was sent off after receiving the second yellow card.
However, Al Hidd managed to score the winning goal in the 66th minute through Ali Khalil. Al Hidd now have 11 points and move to seventh place while Al Ahli remain on eight points and ninth position.
In the other match at same venue, Riffa moved to 13 points and sixth while Al Najma remain on 26 and second place.
Al Riffa goals were scored by Fawzi Ayesh in the 36th minute and Abdulla Mubarak in the 95th.
In the third match, Al Shabab and Ettihad played out a goalless draw. Al Shabab are on 16 points and in fourth position while Ettihad have seven points and remain at the bottom.
Today’s matches: Muharraq (31 points) vs Manama (13)- 6.30pm at Khalifa Sports City Stadium. Malkiya (23) vs East Riffa (10) - 6.30pm at Al Ahli Club Stadium.
