SHAIKH Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stormed to victory in the Triple Crown Triathlon Series on Friday in Dubai.
The event featured 2,500 athletes representing 100 countries, and Shaikh Nasser finished first at the GCC level and fourth overall, clocking 04.09.27 hours.
The event consisted of 1.9km swimming, 90km cycling and 21km running.
Shaikh Nasser performed incredibly in the swimming contest, timing 31.12 minutes before posting 02.08 in cycling and 01.23 hours in running.
“This result encourages us to think positively about future events as we will be participating in local and foreign events to reach our peak ahead of the World Championship in Kona in October,” said Shaikh Nasser.
Bahrain Endurance 13 Team’s Alistair Brownlee won the men’s professional title while his compatriot Holly Lawrence led the women’s field through most of the day, overtaken only in the last six kilometres and had to be content with third place.
