MANAMA: An interactive workshop with Michelin-star chef Jonathan Berntsen was organised by Bahrain Industry for Hospitality and Retail (BIHR) HTMi Switzerland - Bahrain Campus for its students.

A Danish national, Chef Berntsen is believed to be the youngest Michelin star chef in Europe. Held in partnership with the Capital Club in Bahrain Financial Harbour, the event was part of an ongoing arrangement between the two organisations which aims at enhancing Bahraini talent and allowing the tourism and hospitality sector to flourish.

BIHR managing director Hatim Dadabai said, “The Capital Club Bahrain is also hosting a week-long training on The Etiquette of Culinary Arts for our young students as part of the continued partnership.”

“BIHR continuously aims at providing a high quality hospitality and tourism management education with international standards in the pursuit of supporting and motivating Bahrainis to meet the growing needs of the hospitality sector in the kingdom.”

The institute is strongly supported by Tamkeen and the Labour and Social Development Ministry to support the young Bahraini school drop-outs and fresh graduates to join the growing hospitality sector, he added.
