The 32nd edition of the Janadriya Festival will start today in Saudi Arabia under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The National Guard Ministry is organising the annual festival in Janadriya, on the northern outskirts of the Saudi capital, featuring a mega camel race, an operetta and dance.
The 18-day festival, which runs until February 24 celebrates the heritage and symbols of Saudi identity.
The Republic of India, the guest of honour at the festival this year, will be represented by the Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, who will attend the opening ceremony.
Singers Mohammed Abdu, Abdulmajeed Abdullah, Rashid Al Majid, Rabih Saqr, Majid Al Muhandis, Rashid Al Faris and others, will present an operetta called “Imams and Kings,” written by Prince Badr bin Abdul Mohsen and produced by the Rotana Company.
