The programmes and activities of Bahrain Sports Day was presented at the organising committee meeting at Elite Grand Hotel in Seef yesterday.
Bahrain Sports Day, on February 13, is organised by Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) for the second consecutive time and targets both citizens and expats of all ages.
BOC general secretary and organising committee chairman Abdulrahman Askar held fruitful discussions with members of the committee in putting final touches on the preparations.
The committee consists of representatives of ministries and other government and private authorities, who presented their respective programme of activities as part of the event.
They also looked into the official website of the event, which is now accepting registration online at http://www.sportsday.bh.
The Bahrain Sports Day will involve a number of ministries, other government authorities and the private sector in an attempt to promote sports as a healthy lifestyle.
The event is being organised as per the directives of His Majesty the King’s representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and BOC president Shaikh Nasser in Hamad Al Khalifa.
