BRITISH Club ‘A’ registered an all-important 19-10 win over Bahrain Rugby Football Club (BRFC) ‘A’ in the DHL Bahrain Netball League.
The victors held a narrow 6-4 lead at the end of the first quarter, which they stretched to 11-6 at the break. They continued to play well in the second half as they enjoyed 13-7 lead at the end of the third, allowing them to cruise in the fourth.
British Club ‘A’ Centre Charlotte Collinson was named the Player of the Match.
In another match, BRFC ‘B’ comfortably defeated British Club ‘C’ 28-11.
The winners quickly raced out to a 6-1 advantage after the first period and they remained well in control in the second where they scored nine unanswered goals to go ahead 15-1. They cruised the rest of the way.
Kate Fellowes and Jo Preocanin were selected as the Players of the Match for their respective sides.
In the final game of the evening, Sri Lanka Club beat BRFC ‘C’ 20-13. Both teams kept it close in the first two periods, with Sri Lanka heading into the interval with a narrow 9-7 lead. They mad it 15-9 after three, and then did well in the fourth to close out the seven-goal victory.
Goalkeeper Hasani was the Player of the Match for Sri Lanka Club, while Elligh Sissons was her team’s top performer.
