ABU DHABI: His Majesty King Hamad yesterday praised Bahrain’s historic relations with the UAE.
He also focused on ways of further strengthening them as he held talks with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The meeting was also attended by Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ruler’s representative in Al Dhafra Region.
His Majesty and Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed later engaged in the traditional sport of falconry, as part of their efforts to revive Arab traditions and heritage.
The King’s representative for charity works and youth affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, SCYS first deputy chairman and Bahrain Athletics Association president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, members of His Majesty’s delegation and senior UAE officials were present.
His Majesty later returned to Bahrain following the private visit to the UAE.
He was seen off by Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed and Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed.
