THREE teenagers who had sex with an underage girl – the equivalent of statutory rape – had their sentences slashed on appeal.
The Bahrainis were jailed for three years each by the High Criminal Court. They appealed at the Supreme Criminal Appeals Court which reduced their sentences to two years each behind bars.
The 13-year-old Bahraini girl, who said she had been dating one of the defendants, admitted to having sex with all three on the same day.
A medical examiner’s report presented to the court said traces of the defendants’ DNA were found on the girl’s body and clothes.
