Riyadh: A young woman is facing legal action in Saudi Arabia for using the social media websites to offend social norms and religious precepts.
The suspect reportedly posted 'offensive' photos and video recordings on her SnapChat account, under a pseudonym 'Lamia'.
The security authorities identified the woman, who is in her twenties, and arrested her in the city of Jeddah, said Mecca police media spokesman Colonel Ati bin Ateya Al-Qorashi.
The suspect who dared the police to identify her was referred to the Public Prosecution to face legal action and stand trial.
