A WOMAN who gave birth to a baby a fortnight ago died at Salmaniya Medical Complex on Sunday night.
The 33-year-old Indian housewife delivered the boy through a Caesarean section in a private hospital where she had gone for a check-up after she developed fever two weeks ago, according to informed sources.
“She had a fever and went for a check-up. She had to undergo a caesarean section to save the baby from infection,” the sources told the GDN.
However, she was referred to SMC after her condition worsened. “On Sunday her blood pressure dropped and she died around 11.30pm.”
She is survived by her husband, who works in a private company, the 15-day-old son and a five-year-old daughter.
The body is in the SMC morgue awaiting repatriation clearance.
The family hails from Tumkur, Karnataka.
