Oman - The police in Oman foiled two separate attempts to smuggle psychotropic tablets about 7000 tablets of banned psychotropic tables.

The anti-narcotic squads arrested two Asian passengers at Muscat International Airport and seize respectively 3500 and 3397 tablets in their luggage.

In a third operation, the police in Northern Al-Batinah arrested a suspected smuggler and seized 2,000 packs of illegal cigarettes.

The patrol of the Al-Wajaja police station found a four-wheel-drive vehicle without number plates in a valley, carrying 2,000 packs of cigarettes, said Times of Oman.

The driver was caught as he was attempting to leave the country, said the Royal Oman Police.
