Riyadh: The Saudi health authorities stepped their efforts to contain the bird flu disease (H5N8) which hit poultry farms in parts of the country.
The special teams culled 5404 birds over the past 24 hours in a preventive measure to prevent further contaminations.
The Ministry of the Environment, Water and Agriculture did not report new cases over the past 24 hours.
Veterinaries working with the ministry examined 7992 samples – of which 130 tested positive.
