Three Egyptian police officers were able to save the life of a child as he fell from the balcony of a third-floor apartment in Assiut Governorate, south of Cairo.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the police officers Kamil Fathi Jaid, Hassan Sayed Ali and Sabri Mahrous Ali, from the Assiut police force, managed to save a 5-year-old boy from falling off the balcony of a third-floor apartment, as he tried to cling to the wall for fear of falling.
The ministry added that the three police officers were able to capture and hold the child as soon as he fell and made sure he was unharmed. Officer Kamil Fathi was injured in the process.
The ministry said that the injured policeman was transferred to Asiut police hospital for treatment.
The Egyptian interior ministry praised the police officers referring to their critical mission as "heroic".
