SEVEN feature races are scheduled for today, one of the richest days in the Bahrain horse racing calendar with BD30,000 prize money at stake, at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.
The richest race of the day is for the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup for imported horses carrying a cash prize of BD10,000 and to be ridden over 2,000 metres starting at 5.15pm.
Of the nine horses in the fray, Shogun, owned by Al Adiyat Racing, trained by Alan Smith and to be ridden by Frankie Dettori, is the favourite to win this race ahead of its nearest challengers Vale Do Sol and Masterpaver.
Brightsideoflife, owned by Victorious, trained by Alan Smith and ridden by Andrew Elliott, is tipped to win the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup for locally bred horses carrying a cash prize of BD5,000 and to be run over 2,000 metres, starting at 4.50pm.
Milyar and Harash are the second and third favourites respectively.
Mutahaady, owned by Al Adiyat Racing, trained by Alan Smith and to be ridden by Frankie Dettori, is the best bet to win the Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup for imported horses carrying a cash prize of BD4,000 and to be run over 1,400 metres, starting at 4.25pm.

Shipyard and Neoclassical are the second and third favourites respectively.
Blood Moon, owned by Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, trained by Abdulla Kuwaiti and to be ridden by A Rahim Jasim, looks in best shape to win the Shaikha Sheemah bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup carrying a cash prize of BD3,000 and to be run over 1,000 metres straight, starting at 4pm.
Rita’s Boy and Lolla Fincess are expected to give the favourite a run for its money.
The race for the Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup for Arabian horses has attracted the smallest field of four horses.
But Kuheilan Aafas 1675, owned by Al Wasmiya, trained by Abdulla Kuwaiti and to be ridden by Brett Doyle, looks in best shape to win this race carrying a cash prize of BD3,000 and to be run over 1,600 metres, starting a 3.35pm.
Mlolshan 1649 and Al Jellaby 1544 are the second and third favourites respectively.
The day’s action begins at 2.45pm with the race for the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup for locally bred horses carrying a cash prize of BD2,000 and to be run over 1,600 metres.
Of the biggest field of 15 horses, Miryah, owned by Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, trained by James Naylor and to be ridden by Brett Doyle, is the favourite to win this race ahead of its closest challengers High Roller and Jadeel.
Riyada, owned by Al Awlad Syndicate, trained by James Naylor and to be ridden by Brett Doyle, is the favourite to win the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup for locally bred horses carrying a cash prize of BD3,000 and to be run over 1,000 metres straight, starting at 3.10pm. Rayaas and Stevie G are the second and third favourites respective.
