A very heartening and pleasing study report declares that Bahrain has the fifth cheapest petrol price in the world and the third cheapest in the GCC.
It is customary in Pakistan that whenever the market price of any product goes high due to the levy of any tax, surcharge or removal of subsidy, the government always takes one defence. It will say that in India, this price is still higher than our new price. And in case in India it still is less, then the example is given of such a country where it is higher than the new Pakistani price and not of India.
It is never, however, touched that where such a price was higher, what was the average salary/income level of individual masses there.
