Dubai: The UAE passport has consolidated its global standing, ranking 22nd among the 25 most powerful passports in the world.
The Emirati passport, which moved three notches is now the highest-ranking in the Arabia Gulf, Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, according to the Global Passport Power Index - Arton Capital.
Holders of the UAE passport enjoy visa-free entry into 138 countries - as compared to Singapore and South Korea at 162.
The United Kingdom is at the fourth place and the United States rounded up the top five, tied with Switzerland, Ireland and Canada, according to Khaleej Times.
Global Passport Power Index has ranked Kuwait 49th and Saudi Arabia 60th respectively.
The Henley passport index had earlier ranked the UAE passport 32nd strongest in the world.
The UAE passport rose by six places year-on-year and by 29 places over the past decade, which is the biggest climb of any passport in the world.
