Samsung has finally taken the wraps off its Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ smartphones.
The two new smartphones are said to be the company's answer to Apple's iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X. Here we compare the most powerful Android handsets to Apple’s top-of-the-line flagship - iPhone X.
Gadgets Now have compared the Galaxy S9, S9+ and the iPhone X side by side and have listed out some of the features that are missing in the latter.
Samsung Galaxy S9+ (and the Galaxy S9) has something called ‘Dual Aperture’ camera wherein the sensor shifts the aperture of the camera from f/1.5 to f/2.4 aperture based on the lighting conditions.
This feature is missing in the Apple iPhone X, or any other branded smartphone for that matter.
As shown by Samsung at the MWC 2018 keynote event, the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+’s new Animoji feature is based on the same idea as Apple iPhone X’s 3D emojis, however, users will get more choices.
In Galaxy S9 and S9+, users can create their own emojis. They need not map their face onto an existing preset. Users can customise skin tone, use the hair colour they want, pick the outfit of their choice and much more.
For Apple, it took courage to leave behind the widely used 3.5mm headphone jack but for Samsung it still remains one of the priorities.
Many of us still use the 3.5mm headphone jack and although you can't use it with Pixel device or the iPhone X, you can still plug them in to you Galaxy S9, S9+ and get going.
With Apple iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8+, wireless charging made its debut in iPhones.
However, with Samsung the tech was introduced couple of years ago. And now, the South Korean tech company has brought its fast wireless charging to the Galaxy S9, S9+ as well. It is claimed to be 50 per cent faster.
Although the world is moving towards FaceID or Face Unlock tech, some of us still may be sceptical of its accuracy or security.
Apple iPhone X completely relies on FaceID as it doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor. But with the Galaxy S9, users just don't get the face unlock and iris scanner but also get the good old fingerprint sensor.
