Today, I once again had to listen to a senior local businessman complaining that he could not hire locals for his company because they have no experience despite their nice qualifications.
Surely, one of the tasks of a manager is to train staff and delegate tasks to them. In reality this is the only way in which employees will become experienced.
In many parts of the world it is estimated that staff training budget should be around three per cent of the total manpower budget.
Maybe companies in Bahrain should calculate whether they are spending that much on staff development to enhance the assets of the organisation!
