Kuwaiti police launch manhunt for fugitive drifter

GDN Online Desk

Kuwait City: The Kuwaiti police have launched a manhunt for a Saudi drifter who drove his car recklessly in the governorate of Al-Ahmadi, exposing people’s lives to danger.

A video recording posted on social media websites showed the reckless driver as he rammed his pick-up into a police patrol vehicle deliberately before escaping the scene.

The reckless driver repainted his car to evade arrest and make it difficult for the police to identify him, said Alrai.

The Al-Ahmadi police are coordinating with the criminal investigation authorities to track down the rogue driver and bring him to justice to face legal measures.

The police units which launched a manhunt later spotted the car hidden in a farm, whose owner said that the vehicle belonged to a Saudi national.

The police caught the farm owner for questioning and referred the car to the General Directorate of Traffic.

The security authorities said that the garage employees who repainted the car without authorization would also face legal action.
