Riyadh: Saudi Crown, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud will start a visit to London on Wednesday.
The two sides will review key bilateral and regional issues, focusing on defense, security, and economic ties.
The crown prince “will hold wide-ranging talks with top British officials including Prime Minister Theresa May,” the UK government had said in a statement.
In a statement to Arab News, British Ambassador to Riyadh Simon Collis hailed deep-rooted historic ties, stressing the importance of the visit which, he said would establish a platform for a stronger relationship.
“The partnership helps make both of our countries safer through intelligence sharing, and more prosperous with substantial opportunities for two-way trade,” he said.
Prince Mohammed will pay his debut visit to the UK since his appointment as Crown Prince in June 2017.
Shura Council member Mohammed Al-Khunaizi said described the UK as major defence partner of Saudi Arabia, underlining cooperation, especially in the fields of security and intelligence sharing.
The UK is Saudi Arabia’s second-largest cumulative investor, with about 200 joint ventures worth an estimated $15 billion in total.
