Sanmitra and Al Faisal reach quarter-finals

Sanmitra and Al Faisal Travels qualified for the last eight stages while Kansara won by a huge margin to stay in contention in the KSB Champions trophy 2018 Soft Ball Cricket Tournament.

Although Samithra lost against Al Faisal travels by three wickets in their last league match they topped Group D by defeating Basava Samithi by two wickets.

Sanmithra defeated Basava Samithi Bahrain (BSB) in the day’s first match to push their opponents out of competition. In a low-scoring game, BSB could manage only 23 runs for five wickets in six overs after batting first. Sanmithra emerged victorious in 4.3 overs after losing four wickets.

In a crucial Group D match, Al Faisal Travels defeated Sanmithra by three wickets and qualified for the knockouts from group D as the second team.

Annadurai (21 runs) was batting hero for Sanmithra as they scored 44 runs in six overs. Opener Rahim contributed with 11 runs.

Opener Jayaraj scored 21 not out in 16 balls to guide Al Faisal team home. Imran chipped in with 11 rvuns.

Jignesh’s explosive batting ended the day’s last match in 2.1 overs as Kansara defeated Maharashtra Mandal Cricket Club (MMCC) by six wickets to stay in contention in Group C.

Jignesh scored 33 runs off nine balls including three fours and three sixes as Kansara reached the target of 37 in 13 balls without any loss.

Earlier, MMCC scored 36 runs in 6 overs.
