Bahraini athlete Shaikha Al Shaiba competed in WTS Abu Dhabi which took place at Yas Marina Circuit. She took part in the Sprint race, held as part of the event, for elite athletes, where the world’s top nine female athletes participated in the women’s race, while the top eight male athletes featured in the event alongside Olympics medal winners.
The race composed of a 750m swimming race, a 20km cycling event and a 5km running competition. Al Shaiba managed to complete the race.
“I would like to express my appreciation to Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president, for supporting me in my career in triathlon sport. The competition was fierce and it has improved me,” Al Shaiba said after the race.
