ThinkSmart for Development and Training is an official Amazon Web Services (AWS) training partner. At the beginning of 2018, ThinkSmart organised two classes on AWS official training at Wyndham Grand Hotel from January 21 to 30.
The training was attended by delegates from 15 different entities including the public and private sectors as well as the education sector.
It covered the AWS business essentials, technical essentials and architecting on AWS, as well as preparing for the AWS Solutions Architect – Associate Certification.
Trainees came from different background and underwent thorough studies on the fundamentals of cloud and AWS with business and technical essentials, followed by an Architecting on AWS course in preparation for the certification exam.
The session was conducted by a senior AWS certified instructor and provided detailed lab practice to delegates.
Support
ThinkSmart will be running regular AWS Training throughout this year, covering various subjects, including those already mentioned as well as developing on AWS, system operations, security fundamentals, big data and more.
The training is completely supported by Tamkeen and is made specifically for decision makers, senior managers, business users, chief information officers and the information technology team.
The AWS Business Essentials training is made specifically for business users and senior managers to help them understand cloud concepts and the impact of AWS on business.
“As per our commitment to train and certify Bahrainis from all sectors in Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are conducting these trainings at least twice in a month and we have received an overwhelming response so far from all the sectors in Bahrain,” said ThinkSmart chief executive officer Ahmed Al Hujairy.
Demand
“We have planned for more training each month to address this demand.” Mr Hujairy added, “As the public and private sector are moving as expected towards cloud, the training focuses on AWS concepts, impact on business, successful migrations and technical trainings on architecting, development and operations are a must and the sooner these organisations upgrade skills of their employees, the smoother their journey will be.”
According to the forecasts from leading research firms, within the next three years, twothirds of all IT infrastructure and software will move to cloud and 70 per cent of chief information officers globally have initiated the “Cloud-First” policy.
Only comprehensive trainings will help in accelerating cloud adoption and help achieve the objectives. ThinkSmart will be conducting its next session of AWS Business Essentials, Technical Essentials and Architecting on AWS Trainings later this month.

These trainings will be supported by Tamkeen for Bahraini nationals.
