Fifty-seven startups from the MENA region have gathered today to take part in Bahrain's first Unbound conference.

The two-day event is being held at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) and is part of Startup Week.

Unbound is a global innovation event that Bahrain is taking part in for the first time, organised by the Economic Development Board and Startup Bahrain.

The event aims to help promote digital entrepreneurship by allowing the startups a chance to pitch their ideas to local and regional investors.

It will also feature a series of workshops and seminars by local and international experts.

Two competitions are also being held; a two-day hackathon where teams will compete to find the best solution to a problem, and a pitching competition both with cash prizes.
