Meteorological Directorate: Last month was the third hottest February since records began in 1902

MANAMA: Last month was the third hottest February since records began in 1902, said the Meteorological Directorate.

The average temperature was 19.8C, with the highest recorded temperature being 30.6C on February 18 at Bahrain International Airport and 30.9C at Durrat Al Bahrain. 

The month saw a total precipitation of 10.2mm at the airport, however, the total precipitation recorded at Durrat Al Bahrain was 16mm.

Meanwhile, thick dust affected the country on February 14, reducing the visibility to 500 metres at the airport.

Fog also affected the country on February 16, dropping visibility to 350m or less from midnight to 7am. The lowest visibility was 40m from 12.30am to 2am at the airport.
