Works by the late iconic Palestinian cartoonist Naji Al Ali went on display in Bahrain for the first time as part of the Spring of Culture festival. The exhibition, ‘This Compass Will Always Point To Palestine’, at the Art Centre near Bahrain National Museum focuses on Jerusalem as the permanent capital of Islamic culture. The cartoons tell the story of the occupation of Palestine and Jerusalem from the beginning of Mr Al Ali’s career until his assassination in London in 1987. The exhibition is open daily from 8am to 8pm until March 31. Above, some of the cartoons on display on a concrete wall topped with barbed wire.
