An elderly Omani man was diagnosed with the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) in the Batinah region.
The 74-year-old citizen reportedly contracted the virus while taking care of sick camels, according to Muscat Daily.
The health authorities in Oman last announced a laboratory-confirmed case of MERS-CoV in November 2017.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) reported 2,144 laboratory-confirmed cases of MERS-CoV, including at least 750 related deaths.
