Manama: Bahrain is keen to encourage greater foreign investment in its vital health sector, said the Premier yesterday.
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa affirmed the government’s keenness to enhance treatment services provided to citizens.
He stressed the government’s desire to pave the way for Bahrainis to learn from friendly countries in the medical field, welcoming policies of the Thai health sector to invest in Bahrain.
The Premier was speaking as he received chief executive and managing director of Thai Piyavate Hospital Dr Witit Artavatkun, currently on a visit to the kingdom.
The Premier lauded the steady progress of Bahraini-Thai relations and co-operation in various fields.
He commended the crucial role of the private sector in strengthening ties by taking advantage of the agreements signed between the two countries in various development sectors.
The Premier highlighted Bahrain’s investment potential, citing its strategic geographic location as a gateway to regional and world markets.
He also outlined the kingdom’s streamlined legislation and modern infrastructure.
He asserted that there are promising opportunities of co-operation between the two countries in many fields that can be developed through partnership between the private sector in both kingdoms.
Dr Artavatkun thanked the Premier for continuous efforts to bolster Bahrain-Thai relations.
He lauded the Premier’s support for the private sector to invest in the medical field, praising Bahrain’s major health strides.
