A huge crane collapsed at an under-construction building in Abu Dhabi, crushing several cars which were parked in the area of the Tourist Club, Emarat Al Youm reported.
Brigadier General Mohammed Mayouf Al Ketbi, director general of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Department, said that seven cars were damaged in the incident but no casualties were reported.

An inquiry has been launched into the cause of the crane collapse.
Al Ketbi urged owners of construction companies and contractors to comply with safety requirements at work sites and to ensure cranes and other machines used at construction sites are maintained periodically.
