EMPIRICIST was the biggest winner at yesterday’s horse racing at Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.
Empiricist, owned by Ghalya Raed Ali Abdulla, trained by Jaffar Radhi and ridden by Abdulla Faisal, stunned Sir Victor by a neck to win the Kuwait Finance House Cup which carried the richest prize money of the day of BD5,000.
Goodwood Crusader was third and Excuse to Linger fourth.
Sidewinder, owned by Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, trained by Abdulla Kuwaiti and ridden by Brett Doyle, lived up to expectations edging out Gold Spinner by a neck to win the Batelco Cup for imported horses carrying a cash prize of BD2,000. Zymyran was third and Suspect Package fourth.
Another favourite News Breaker, owned by Victorious, trained by Alan Smith and ridden by Andrew Elliott, beat Retort by two lengths to win the Kuwait Finance House Cup for locally bred horses carrying a cash prize of BD2,000.
Khamila was third and Lazaal fourth.
Raawy, owned by Ali Abdulmajeed Ali Hammad, trained by Ali Jan and ridden by Berngndo, caused the only other upset of the day beating Navarone by nine lengths to win The Jockey Club Cup for imported horses carrying a cash prize of BD2,000.
Nile Venture was third and Accra Beach fourth.
Kuheiland Aafas 1640, owned by Safra, trained by Alan Smith and ridden by Andrew Elliott, beat Kuheilan Aafas 1675 by five lengths to win the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs Cup for Arabian horses carrying a cash prize of BD2,500.

Nardeen was third and Rayaash fourth.
Al Saida, owned by Shaikh Hashim bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, trained by Jaffar Marzooq and ridden by Husain Makki, beat Jadeel by a head to win the Batelco Cup for locally bred horses carrying a cash prize of BD2,000.
