Dubai – A man suspected of killing an Arab-born American businessman was arrested within four hours after the crime.
The Dubai Police caught the 25-year-old Arab suspect following a legal warrant and referred him to the competent authorities to face charges.
A thorough investigation was launched after Al-Muraqqabat Police Station received a call from the nephew of the businessman, saying that could not contact his uncle who was on a visit to the UAE.
The officers who conducted the inquiry Our teams found the businessman dead inside a hotel room where he was staying during the visit.
“The man was apparently battered to death and had been dead for about 48 hours as the probe suggested, said Major General Al Mansouri, assistant commander-in-chief of the Dubai Police.
The initial investigation revealed that suspected killer had accompanied the American businessman to his hotel room, where was later found dead.
The suspect confessed to accompanying the businessman to his hotel room and hitting him on his head with a wooden plank, before escaping with his wallet.
The man also admitted seeking help from his friend, another Arab national, to withdraw cash using the stolen ATM card of the businessman.
