The new state-of-the-art King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah is gearing up for its soft opening next month, Akhbaar24 reported.
Exclusive photos were released by Mecca province which showed part of the aviation milestone named after the founder and first monarch of Saudi Arabia.
Six gates will be operated initially during the experimental phase, prior to the full opening of the airport later this year.
It is expected to serve 36.5 per cent of the overall number of passengers travelling through Saudi airports.
The airport has the capacity to accommodate up 30 million passengers in the first stage, gradually increasing to 50 million and then 100 million travellers by the end of the third stage.
